Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool match preview

Crystal Palace

This team has only 1 point more than Southampton, a team that’s in the relegation zone. The problem is that Crystal Palace has played a match more than Soton, meaning that the chances are high they will once again drop into the danger zone. Of course, even if that happens, it doesn’t mean that it’s all over for Crystal Palace. There are 7 more games to be played in the Premier League this season, so if they do well, they will stay in the top English flight.

The good news is that their fixture list is not too tough. Excluding the game with Liverpool, Crystal Palace will play some really winnable matches. For instance, they’re expected to do well in the duel with Brighton, Stoke City, and West Bromwich Albion. Crystal Palace definitely has the quality to win some points in those games, the only problem is getting into the right form.

Before beating Huddersfield Town in the previous round, this team lost 4 games in a row. However, they showed real class in the Huddersfield game, in which they had almost 3 times more goal attempts than their opponent.

Liverpool

In Klopp’s books, the game against Crystal Palace is a must-win match. I’m sure Liverpool are counting on 3 points in this match, considering that they’re still dreaming about finishing on the 2nd place on the table. To keep that dream alive, the Reds must not make a single mistake. Otherwise, Manchester United will leave them behind and even Tottenham might overtake their spot on the table.

Liverpool are in a decent form at the moment, even though they lost to Manchester United two weeks ago. It’s not Liverpool’s form that’s worrying their manager, but their schedule. After the Premier League match with Crystal Palace, they will play the first part of the Champions League doubleheader with Manchester City, followed by the Merseyside derby right afterwards.

Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool: Match Prediction

Can Crystal Palace get anything out of this match? Well, they certainly can try. I believe we’ll see them playing extremely defensively, in the same manner they did the last time they played against Liverpool, hoping that this time it’ll be enough for a draw.

I doubt they will manage to stop Liverpool attackers from scoring, especially Mohamed Salah, who’s been fantastic lately. He’s the man who scored 4 goals in the 5:0 win over Watford in the previous round. I doubt Crystal Palace have what it takes to stop him.

Still, I don’t think Crystal Palace will embarrass themselves on Saturday. They will probably lose the match with not more than 1-2 goals in their net.
